Khata vs myBillBook
You are choosing a GST billing app and want to know how Khata differs before you put your stock and customers into one.
What myBillBook is
myBillBook is an Indian GST billing and inventory product aimed at small and medium businesses, available on mobile, desktop and web.
Their pricing and feature list change over time, so we do not reproduce them here — check the source directly:

Every point below is something you can verify in the app on the day you install it.
The app is free, with nothing held back
Every feature in the mobile app is included at no cost — no trial that expires and no card required. A web dashboard exists for larger businesses, arranged with our team; it is never a condition of using the app.
India and Nepal, not India alone
GST formats for India, VAT for Nepal, billing in INR or NPR, and filing-deadline tracking for Nepali VAT and advance income tax.
Billing that survives a dead signal
Bills are written to the device first and queued. When the connection returns they sync automatically, with duplicate protection so a retry cannot double-count a sale.
Phone, tablet and web — no desktop licence
Android, iOS and the web dashboard all use the same account and the same data. Nothing is tied to one machine.
Staff logins with real permissions
Give each staff member their own login and control what they can see. A cashier can bill without seeing your profit margins.
English, हिन्दी and नेपाली
The app ships in all three, so staff who are not comfortable in English can still run the counter.
When myBillBook is the better choice
Khata is not right for everyone. Some honest reasons to stay where you are:
- You need a feature specific to their higher tiers that you have confirmed Khata lacks
- Your business is India-only and you have no Nepal operations
- You are already mid-way through onboarding your catalogue there
Try Khata — the app costs nothing
Install it alongside what you use today. Nothing to cancel, no card, no commitment.
